Is the real deal. Can't wait for this kid to get up here. Maybe another year or 2. Think this kid is going to fly up our system.

...I would think that if the Yanx were going to try to convert him to a different position it would be in the OF where his speed would be a plus...of course he'd also need to prove that he can hit well at the ML level.

    ...just my 2 cents.

The kid looks very impressive but I need to see him on a larger scale before I can place any labels on him.

De spite poor Ownership and Management above field level kids like Mateo and Seve give the fans something to cheer for and an appearance of a better future. What we were shown last year especially in the pitching department is that salary not performance takes the field.

Yep, then to add insult to injury the man wagged out at playoff time. I realize that as a human being he needed to do something about his habit. On the other side that human being had a contract to live up to and gotten that habit under control. There's a bit of bad shit going on in baseball. Sniveling about Utleys slide, Cole over in Pittsburg sniveling about money, Tulo sniveling about the Rockies luxury training camp. That old Joan Baez tune "There But For Fortune" pops up in my head when I hear crap like that. Baseball Players make a good paycheck, playing a game, with extra perks applicable to their status. We should all be so lucky.

...^^^ I agree whole heartedly...there's a lot of Prima Donnas in sports these days.

...as far as CC, I know he went to rehab but it's been proven that rehab success rates are not very good. Also, how many times has CC come to camp proclaiming that he's in the best shape of his life but continues to suck, or coming to camp after losing a ton of weight only to gain it all back by the AS break?

...he's been in serious decline for several years now, so if he can pitch to an ERA of 4.50 or less this year I'd consider that as a bonus.

If C.C. were a horse he'd of been shot a long time ago....Crappy too...!

I don't think C.C. can be effective as a middle reliever either....??

Man I miss those SP Staffs of the mid-late 90s, up 'til early Y2K....:comppunch:

Okay fellas, we can always use a good laugh.
My guess is after you read the following, you'll either have a smirk or a smile on your face.......I hope you get a chuckle from it - after all, it's only baseball and shouldn't it be "fun"?

CC - in 9 starts Aug- Oct, he posted a 2.87 ERA and went at least 6 IP in 6 of those games (6.2 in three of them) .....5-4 W-L

There ya go......I hope it drew a good laugh.

...yes, by all means, let's cherry pick 9 out of 29 starts in a vain effort to somehow paint CC in a favorable light.

...he's sucked for 3 years now...and the Yanx fans still have 2 more years of torture while watching this gas can collect another $50 Mil.

Now now, the Yanks sucked going down the stretch and I don't see anything wrong or unfair with pointing out one of their brighter spots during that time.
I take it you didn't get a "laugh" as I had hoped.
    Sorry. Okay- he sucks......feel better?
