The Jays have shut him down for the remainder of the season. After two seasons with ridiculous homer totals this is now the second straight season he hasn't been able to complete due to injury. I hate to have doubt about everybody but he's another very suspicious player when you start thinking about PEDs.
When you never hit more then 15 & then suddenly jump to 54 I never thought otherwise. Hell even Bonds never had an increase like that.
This is a tough one, because Bautista has always been a clutch player and has proven that he is an all-star. I suspect that if there was ever speculation regarding PED's, it would have come earlier in his career, perhaps a year ago. Although I can't say I disagree with you, I hope it's just pure talent, because Bautista is now a primetime slugger.
Why would it have come earlier in his career when he was only hitting 14-15 home runs. Sorry but no one can jump 35+ Hrs just by changing your stance as he claimed was the reason.
Agree Rick, classic PED user. Giant jump in hrs and then never ending injuries that never get better. and for anyone with the weak response that he never tested positive all I'll say is neither did the 12 guys that just accepted suspensions. The masking agents in the labs are just too good and except for when a biogenesis type lab is outed or when someone can't count his days to mask like braindead melky no one with giant increases in power numbers gets the benefit of the doubt from me.
He's been in the league for what, over a decade now? I was thinking more of the jump from his on average 11 hrs a year to his 2010/2011 seasons. Like you said Rick, "no one can jump 35+ hrs just by changing your stance as he claimed was the reason." Also as did Mrmel29 say as he said "giant jump in hrs and then never ending injuries that never get better." You honestly don't go from hitting an average of 11 hrs to hitting a 54, then 43 season. So, if they did investigate, I believe investigation should have come around the 10/11 season.
