I just played basketball against Childress at West Valley College, he is the real deal. I knew he was a good basketball player but you have no idea until you see him in person. It was an open gym but we played a mini tournament. We played his team first, which Chris Hernandez was also on. They killed us and Childress was plain unstopable. I blew right by me off the dribble and dunked right over my friend. We did manage 2 points in a 15-2 loss.[IMG]

You blew right by yourself 'Deez? Thats amazing  I kid....I kid....

What did you think of Childress' jumpshot mechanics up close? The first time I saw him at the McDonalds All American game, I felt it would work in college, but not in the NBA.

Having Childress and Hernandez on the same team? Geez.

They say television actually adds pounds to a person, so is Josh Childress like a skeleton? Did he get knocked around a lot? To me it seems like it'd be easy to play a guy like that if there wasn't a reff calling every one of his little flops. Also, what's the low down on his game? I didn't catch many Stanford games because of the time difference.

Childress ain't no Joke man he is very long and very athletic. Plus his midrange shot and defense is pretty good. Did you get to see him alley oop dunk at all Rudeezy? His dunks are pretty good but they are not as showy as Jrich or Vince Carter. The guy can really leap.

Plus Chris Hernandez ain't a pushover either. That guy is built when you see him in person. That dude has got some muscles.

He might be the real deal, but I doubt he's what the Warriors need right now because the one position we don't need any more of is swingmen- we already have Jrich, Dunleavy, Pietrus, Cheaney... the list goes on..

I was laying off him to force him to shoot and I think he only missed one three point shot.

Yea that's very true, it'd make the most sense for the Warriors to look for a Center, or even a PG, but I love Calxton, he's the man, I remember wanting the Raptors to get him when he was in PHilly, stupid Grunwald :thumbsdow

Since you played against Childress,do you think he's ready for the NBA?

I watched quite a few Stanford games, and the word best describing Childress is "silky." He's very elusive and feels off his defender very well. He could use more weight just to with stand the bumps and bruises he will encounter playing in the NBA, but he has the complete package. His game is similar to NBA great Dave Bing. Childress is not as a good a scorer, but he has the same fluid moves Bing had on the court.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">What were his strengths, Passing? Shooting? D?</div>Well remember that he wasn't playing against NBA players. From what I saw and experienced:

    He has great range.
Didn't pass the rock that much because he was practically scoring at will.
He played great defense. It was almost impossible for me to get around him, also keep in mind I'm not the quickest player.[IMG]

From what you've seen, do you think he can fare well in the NBA, or will he get an opportunity to start on a NBA team? Also, do you think the Warriors could pick him at the 11th spot?
