Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton will be examined by Dr. William Myers in Philadelphia to determine the extent of an injury he self-diagnosed as a possible sports hernia during the World Series.

Dr. Myers performed surgery on Hamilton in 2009 to repair a torn abdominal muscle that kept the slugger out of the lineup for a month. Hamilton said he will take about a week to relax before making the trip.
