Have any of ya'll noticed the emergence of Josh Howard's 3 point shot? He is shooting more 3's in these last few weeks of the season than I've seen him shoot his whole career. In this series against Memphis he's had 5 three point shots made and counting. He's shooting 45% right now from behind the arc. Now in the season he made 27 three pointers. He shot around 43%. I really didn't notice him shooting a lot of 3's early in the season.April- 21 out of 52-----40.4%Rest of season-11 out of 22-----50.0%(including playoffs)He is shooting more of them and making a better %. I'm guessing he worked on his shot alot while he was injured. Any thoughts?Another note, Marquis Daniels hasnt been in the game once yet. Does anyone know why not? Hopefully its not injury related.
Great job by Howard on the 3's. He's never really shown much for being a 3 point player. Tonight's 3's just could have been luck. Howard never shoots to consistant on 3 pointers. But he has shown alot these playoffs
agreed, howard had a good shooting game tonight, but its not consistent. we dont need his 3 ball to be consistent but when its on, then give the ball to him , just like tonight
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dallas reserve guard Marquis Daniels was sidelined with a right leg strain. He was averaging 4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in the playoffs.</div> LinkHe honestly gets injured more than anyone else I've ever seen. Hopefully the rest between this series and the next gets him back onto the court.
The reason Josh Howard shoots 40%+ from beyond the ark is because of Dirk. With his ability to now post-up as WELL as shoot the jumper, more teams have to leave off Jason Terry, a clutch shooter and 3-Point Contest Competer, and leave off Josh Howard, who is still considered more of a dive-cutting threat, which he still is.I know you're going to all call me a homer, but hey, I've seen Dirk getting so much attention that Terry or Howard are wide-open!!
Well I don't know about WIDE open...but of course having a player like Dirk down low, or outside, would open shots for some of the other Mavs.
Josh Howard was awesome last game. When he plays like that the mavs are very hard to beat. Everything is coming together and hopefully Daniels heals up which he has plenty of time before the next series.
When he plays like that, the Mavericks DON'T lose.Remember the Mavs are undefeated when Josh Howard scores over 20 points...the problem is, he's only done it like 25 times this year, or somewhere around that.
