Josh McRoberts is a good all around player, and a very good college player. But as far as his future in the NBA goes, I don't think it's going to be as good as a lot of people think. Most people have him going lotto, I think that would be a mistake. I mean he's pretty athletic, he can rebound, he's a good passer, he isn't a ball hog, but he is very passive offensively. I don't see any fire inside him that would take him far in the NBA. I believe he will be a pretty solid player, a solid role player, but I do not see future star like a lot of people. Your thoughts?
I agree..I see him kind of as a similar player to Raef Lafrentz...I mean Raef's good in the NBA but he never turned out to be the type of player hyped up to behe was the #3 overall pick..kind of what McRoberts is expected to be..has mid range game and is a big man..know what im saying?Raef never really lived up to #3 pick hype and I don't think McRoberts will eitther

I think that belongs to Joakim Noah..nbadraft.net has him 15th right now..
playa, I disagree with your Raef LaFrentz comparison. First of all, note that the only reason Raef never lived up to the hype was because of his terrible knees. He started off nicely, then the knees screwed the rest of his career. But McRoberts plays very different from Raef, IMO. Raef is a big man that can block shots, and offensively he's not much more than a 3 point shooting big. McRoberts can play around the basket, and he has a much better passing game than Raef ever has. McRoberts does a lot of different things, he's much different than Raef.
Hes been compared to Pau Gasol :wtf1: Hes nowhere near, his athleticism is what makes him look so good. He'll turn out to be another Birdman.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with this guy. I gave him the benefit of the doubt last year because of Shelden Williams and J.J. Redick but he's not been assertive at all so far. He has the skills to be a high first rounder but he just doesn't get it done unfortunately. He's been playing soft this year, probably because of his back surgery. :no1:
He was supposed to be their "key" player this year. Like what BCB said they had Sheldon and JJ last year. I dont find much special about him. I dont see him material for the NBA
I've seen the freshman step it up this year for Duke, and without them..I don't know where they'd be. McRoberts hasn't been a HUGE factor and the number 1 option we all thought he'd be..

Plus its like a sh*t load before the draft, so I don't know why you'd put stock into mocks before the lottery even happens. As for Josh, he's a good player, and he has a chance to be solid if he gets on the right team, but I have a hunch he won't live up to his billing.
He's gotta take control of the game. He's gotta become a power player if he wants to play with the big boys.
Josh McRoberts will be nothing like Raef LaFrentz. First of all, Raef is a perimiter oriented forward who happens to be 7 feet tall. McRoberts plays underneath, and he wants to play there. McRoberts wants to go inside, pull off some post moves. He uses the perimiter as his 2nd option. It's a testimony to McRoberts that he can actually hit the perimiter jumper at 6'11" and can play small forward to center.he will be what Strolomile Swift / Johnathan Bender were suposed to be. I see him as a Charlie Villanueva type player with more inside skills. At worst his career will look like this:35 mpg18.4 ppg9.9 rpg4.3 apg2.1 bpg0.8 spg50% fg35% 3fg
