<div class="quote_poster">Quoting RealGM:</div><div class="quote_post">Washington Post - The Washington Post is reporting that free agent guard Juan Dixon and the Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a three-year contract worth around $8 million, according to Dixon's agent, Calvin Andrews. Contracts can't be officially signed until the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement is ratified, which should be early next week.

Dixon, a Baltimore native, was selected with the 17th overall pick of the 2002 NBA draft by the Wizards after starring at the University of Maryland, where he led the Terrapins to the 2002 NCAA championship. Dixon finished his college career as Maryland's all-time leading scorer.

In three seasons with the Wizards Dixon played in 176 games, had 23 starts and averaged 8.2 points and 1.6 assists.

Meh.......I don't think many Wizards fans are actually saddened by this, so it's not a big deal by any means.

Yea....if the Wizards don't make the playoffs, it will have nothing to do with Juan Dixon being gone.

losing Kwame, Larry Hughes, and Juan combined is what will kill u.

Juan Dixon isn't going to do anything for the Blazers. He is a tweener. He shoots to much for the point and his ball handling skills aren't up to par and he is too small for the two. He isn't going to any better in Portland than he did in Washington.

Also, we could have a very nice lineup next year if we can pick up a decent PF.

    PG - Arenas
    SG - Daniels
    SF - Caron
    PF - Jamison
    C - Haywood

That is our lineup right now, but if we get a good PF. We can move Caron to the 2, Jamison to the 3, and Daniels off of the bench.

No, no, the loss of Juan part will have nothing to do with killing the Wizards, even Kwame isn't going to be much of a loss in comparison to what the team did last season as he was not really a part of the winning. Hughes is the only "real" loss there.
Now you're saying the whole off-season is the reason they will not make the playoffs, yet you replied that Wizard fans will miss Dixon when they don't make the post-season, which is saying he will be the reason they don't make the post-season.

Even if the Wizards don't make the post-season, we still won't miss Juan [IMG]

The Wizards can be just as good or even better than last season if Arenas doesn't get injured or something stupid like that. Antonio Daniels is far superior to Juan Dixon in just about everything. Caron Butler while not as good as Hughes is a more consistent man to man defender, and the big thing, is a lot more durable. Hughes has missed 21 games 2 seasons in a row, and 15 or so the season before, he's bound to miss games again this season.

Caron Butler had one injury year where he played 68 games, but the other years he's played 78 and 77 games.

This was mainly the lineup last season:

    G - Arenas
    G - Hughes
    F - Jefferies
    F - Jamison
    C - Haywood

    This season it will be:

    G - Arenas
    G - Daniels
    SF - Butler
    PF - Jamison
    C - Haywood

Their's a dropoff in Hughes position, but a big improvement at SF with Butler, and JJ is still here as a backup to both Jamison and Butler. Also with Daniels, while their is a dropoff in talent, their's an increase in team play and defensive consistency.
