<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dwight Howard has no fear, not even of his first year of professional basketball, as the number one overall pick in the National Basketball Association, straight from high school. "I don't really see it as pressure," Howard said. "I just see it as I'm coming in, and it is something that I have to do as a basketball player. I'm not looking at failing in any way possible." Fans and insiders recognize that it takes time for a player to rise to greatness, but even very young players who enter the Draft have a lot expected of them right away. And even a player's rookie-year performance can be a telling indicator of how far he will go in the pros. In response to a question about his readiness for the NBA on a 1-10 scale, Howard thought about it for a second. "I would say nine." </div> Orlando Sentinel I still believe Dwight needs more time to develop, possibly 2-3 years. People need to wait rather than judge him - because I know theres several anti-Dwight posters on the board. He may surprise us all and make a smooth transition to the NBA. He isn't Lebron James, nor Kwame Brown, and he isn't as prepared as Okafor. He's Dwight Howard, that simple. Just give him time to develop and he could become something special. Apparently we are tossing him in the starting lineup immediately, which is great. He's our key to the future, and he'll be learning fast.
I agree. Howard was by far the best pick in the draft. Jameer was a steal as well. We have a great future ahead.
I know Howard will be his great in time. I think everyone knows that. What I want to see is how he will come out and play this season. If he even plays average that will be good enough for me becuase he's telling me he has alot coming. I guess we have to wait and see
