http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=rovel/060302 I was reading this article and of course i've seen the commercial cuz they only play it like 5 times a game on TV. but i was wondering how everyone felt about this commercial. i thought it was awesome and the way it was done without sound but just music was great. i watched the commercial twice after reading the article and it made me appreciate it even more
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">I think it's in the top 3 of All-Time Michael Jordan commercials.</div> Which ones are your other two favorites?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_fan:</div><div class="quote_post">Great commercial, the best part was crossover and shot against Byron Russell in the 1998 finals.</div> Yeah they even showed the push and everything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">I was actually in it. I was the one jumping from the free throw line.</div> So was I. I was actually the tall black bold guy smiling proudly at the very end!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Which ones are your other two favorites?</div> well for me, thid would rank 3rd behind MJ vs. Himself commercial and Jordan's frozen moment commercial.
The 2 best jordan commercials are the "Frozen Moments" which I can not for the life of me recall for which J's those were, and the ones for the, damn, I wanna say the XVI's. The extended version to "Umi Says" by Mos Def. This one, literally, gave me goose bumps though. It was, to me, almost like him saying good-bye. An opening to a new era. Watching the "new breed" come to form. I feel this was the gateway to the next generation. You figure, all the people rockin J's from their prime (1988-2002) pretty much the III-XVII range in age of like 18-35. Now, that MJ is gone for good, and most of the people who rocked J's hard, are now out of college too. The next phase of kids are rollin in, and the Brand has to be carried on by new blood. Thats my take, might be deep, but, considering my first pair was the IV's when I was 9, and still collecting today, 300+ strong, I'm passing the torch to my son, who's 4, to start wearing them when he's at the gym with me learning to shoot. We both have the XXI, and it's almost commercial-esque to see him imitating me on the sidelines when he's watching my games.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Which ones are your other two favorites?</div> Top of the list ... #1 "If I could be like Mike" #2 "Is it the Shoes?"
This ranks right up there with "Is it the Shoes?" and "If I could be like Mike" if you ask me. This would probably be my favorite commercial on TV today, I actually like the commercial better than the shoes! They should have went back to his UNC days some though
i dont think the jordan brand will ever die out anyways thats up in the best ones i liked the one when he retiered with spioke lee when he kept calling him asking him if it was really over
Yeah I do the like the new MJ commercials, but I agree with you thedude9990, the Jordan era will never die out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The extended version to "Umi Says" by Mos Def. I just remember the feeling I got watching it at the time. Does anyone have a link? As for this commercial, it's definitely up there. I got goosebumps too. For anyone who has put their heart into the game, Jordan means a lot, even if you were'nt a fan.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=4BWl3PGUyIo&sea...dan%20Nike%20MJ Here is the short version. I was right, it was for the XVI. It was the first real commercial featuring all the Jordan Brand team members. Ray Allen, Michael Finley, Derek Jeter are in it. I'm looking for the extended version. I used to have it. It's the "Much Respect" ad campaign.
I might have to replace "Is it the Shoes?" with the "Frozen in Time" commercial. Thanks for the links to those.
