They asked if there's anything I need during this pandemic. I'm pretty well fixed and told him so. This is an example of the good work that Christians do not only for each other but even more importantly for the disadvantaged even if not Christians. Edit: That's Christ Church in Lake Oswego and not New Zealand.
That's the name of my church in Lake Oswego. I can see the reason for your confusion and I should have made the difference clear. I will edit my post.
Thank you for sharing Lanny. The best part of tough times is seeing the good hearted individuals coming together to support others. Continue to bless others with peace and love my brother. I’m driving around working and drove past a family of 3 who were all out writing on the sidewalk outside their house with chalk. I couldn’t see what they were drawing; but I have no doubt it was a promotion of calmness and peace. Smiled and said my blessings as I drove by. I love to see stuff like that!
My parents church called them last night and asked if they were ok. Was also asking for donations and / or if they knew people struggling who needed food or shelter. Wish it didnt take something like this to remind the church what they’re actually supposed to be doing.
I think that probably varies from church to church, but I hear you. My grandmas church (at least before changing ownership) used to do work for the homeless frequently.
They're probably already doing it even before this virus. They undoubtedly need more to help for the additional people with problems due to the virus. If your point was just to remind us that churches should be helping the disadvantaged then you are absolutely right. This is a good reminder that we should all do every once in a while and for that I thank you.
Central church hosts more than 1,800 people amid covid-19 outbreak The Life Tabernacle Church hosted 1,825 people at their Sunday morning service. 26 buses were used to pick people up from around the Baton Rouge area and transport them to Sunday service. Spell says the way to handle a pandemic is through the healing hand of Jesus. That is our command, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Social distancing did not happen at the service, held outside. All 1,825 people were spread across the campuses seven buildings. Throughout the service parishioners could be seen touching each other and closely gathering, very few wearing masks or gloves. Spell says if anyone in his congregation contracts covid-19 he will heal them through God. “I’m going to address that by laying hands on them and praying for them and depending on God to heal their body,” Spell said. https://www.brproud.com/health/coronavirus/central-church-hosts-1800-people-amid-covid-19-outbreak/
There is no better God than the one I have. It's the same God for multiple denominations and religions. In fact there is no other God or god.
