Braves trade Marvin formerly BJ Upton & Craig Kimbrel to San Diego for Carlos Quinton, Cameron Maybin, a couple of prospects and a future draft pick. Pretty slick salary dump for Atlanta getting rid of Upton but the Kimbrel move is a surprise.
Saw Upton when he played for TB, Longoria got on his case for jaking a play in Center. When Uptons haed is in the game he's pretty good in center field. If he gets his head out of his butt in San Diego he could possible make Myers expendable enough for San Diego to make another good trade.
I think they keep Myers and just want to move him out of C.F. He's a good hitter and B.J. now moves the position he's played for his whole career. Looks like the Padres are serious!
San Diego is doing their damnedest to stay in the hunt. Not sure I can speak of any other Team, that's undergone damn near an entire rebuilding process, less a few SP's. The Kimbrel trade caught me off guard too. Kimbrel is closing in on becoming a solid Fireman Closer. Altho' none compare so far to Aroldis Chapman, who is utterly nasty with those 100+ heaters. The Fireman of the NL Award is Chapman's to lose or win. Yet, I like Kimbrel in this Padres situation. Kimbrel brings a bit more credence to a Pitching Staff, IMO, that has not seen the rebuilding quit like the positional players.....
New ownership in SD, they obviously have a plan. Smart play with all the doubt about Chargers future....season fix sales are going up.
Good to see Diego trying hard to put a sound team together, its over due....! Hey Tom, did you get any good pics of China????
I did except while they are full color digital...they all look like I took them in sepia, lol! Upload some today when I pull them off my phone.
