In the official list of every unprotected player in the league in the upcoming Charlotte Bobcats expansion draft which can be viewed by clicking HERE, the Cavs players which have been left unprotected are Ruben Boumtje Boumtje*, Jason Kapono, Ira Newble, and Kevin Ollie. Players with an asterisk (*) after their name means they are a restricted free agent and if the Bobcats choose them in the draft they automatically becoming an unrestricted free agent and their contract does not count against the Bobcats salary cap. Discuss!
I would hate to loose Kapono who I think could be a valuable roleplayer, but I still agree with this list, mainly because I would hate loosing Kedrick more.
Kapono wouldn't be much of a loss. He didn't place any significant minutes anyhow to contribute. Pax and Silas need someone who can contribute right away and Kap still needs some things to work on. If he gets picked it would be nothing to weep about, but of course, I will be over joyed if the pick Ollie.
I'm gonna reiterate what I posted some time ago.............we'll pay thru the nose to get Charlotte to take anybody that we're going to leave unprotected. We just don't have anyone they're going to find attractive..........Kapono maybe.........but only because he doesn't make any money............Tank
They MIGHT have an eye for Newble if the Cavs advertise him correctly. His numbers might be the greatest, but every team needs that "defensive specialist" ...meh.
