I just started to use photoshop. I have absolutely no idea how to use 99% of the tools in it, but I have my first finished product at least.

Very nice first job. What did you use to make your render? Quick mask?

Changed the Color and then Filter>Render>Clouds

No, I mean removing the background from Tim.

I used the quick selection tool, and then tried to add and subtract until it looked right. I still really have no idea how to do that.

Regardless, it turned out pretty good. Only flaw I see is the stomach, and it's pretty small.

The way I do it is with quickmask.

cool. Right now it looks like a background layer, and a image layer. Work on blending the two together by making some effects (color, lighting, texture, etc) that both of them share.

    Thanks!

Main Event, you're right about it being basic. I've tried working on other images and just had so much trouble removing the image from the background that I usually gave up. I finally got one that was at least close to being done correctly so I finished it right then and there instead of working the colors and shading and all. I think I'll get better, but I'm not the most creative, I've never been artistic, and I don't have a ton of patience so who knows how much better it will be.
