It's daunting to think they have to play .700 baseball. It's better to just think of it one game at a time. These other clubs in the race aren't playing great baseball. It's still a long shot but at this point there's nothing to lose in thinking they can do it. If you're not towards the bottom missing the playoffs does nothing for you draft wise. I'd rather see them play even one playoff game over just being on the outside.
Going to be a rough road ahead Boston: 10 Games 4 home, 6 Boston Baltimore: 7 Games 3 home, 4 Baltimore Tampa Bay: 6 Games 3 home 3 St Petersburg Toronto: 10 Games 4 home 6 Toronto Talk about a gauntlet of course those team face the same thing. Then you have 3 away at Houston, 3 home San Francisco, 3 home White Sox. Three teams with nothing to play fo but would love to scramble a contenders eggs. Wish the Yankees a a bit better record.
If we can narrow the WC gap to lets say 2games going into September, and we get Jeter back at a reasonable level, then we have a chance. What we can't do is go backwards at all. I would love for us to keep our winning streak through the Boston series. Then it could get interesting.
