The names which I put in bold I feel should have been higher and the names which I left I think should be lower.

Illinois is a great team, and I believe they have enough talent to be a top twelve team. I just don't think they should be ahead of schools like Stanford and St.Joe's after already losing a game this season.

Stanford really showed us that they are contenders. They beat the best team in the nation and are undefeated. I believe they should be top ten.

Syracuse is extremely over-hyped. Of all teams, they lost to Charlotte. Their other two wins have also been close scares. They just don't strike me as a top twenty-five team.

The rest are pretty much self-explanatory.

Connecticut will be number one I believe within 2 weeks, long as the Big O is healthy. Having CV back is a huge boost.

Stanford and Purdue have been the surprise teams.I expect them to jump in the rankings soon enough.

I think that Georgia Tech is ranked lower than they should be. They have beaten two top 25 teams including Connecticut(#1 at time) at UConn 77-61 and Texas Tech(#25 at time) 85-65. They are undefeated at 6-0. They should be ranked in the Top 10.

I would also have ranked Missouri a little bit higher. Granted that they haven't played any top 25 teams yet, however they do have a very good ball club. You have to give this team, the benefit of the doubt.

I agree with Wave that Stanford should be ranked a little bit higher. Knocking off Kansas says a lot about their team. They are a top 10 team.

I like where Michigan State was ranked. They have lost three games so far this season which is unheard of for a team that is still ranked in the top 25 this early in the year. However those teams were very good (Duke, Kansas, Oklahoma), This team defenitely has some talent however they need to start winning some big games and quickly. The Kentucky game is a must win for this team, if they want to stay in the top 25.

There is no consensus on the #1 team at this point in the year, I can make points for having several teams ranked at the #1 team. Florida and Conneticut ranked #1 and #2 is how I would go also.

North Caroline is too high. They were 10th and then they beat a Division II team (George Mason) who is very undersized by 20 but they were losing for more than half the game. I think Duke should be higher than Kansas because they lost to Stanford without there best player Josh Childress (not sure on the spelling). Its nice to see the ACC doing well tho.

North Carolina beat a top 15 in Illinois who have one of the best backcourt in the nation.I feel they should of at least cracked the top 5 (In the AP polls I mean)

Purdue is undeafeated so far. I wouldn't underestimate them. Duke also Blew away the Spartans at home.

That's the closest stretch in the poll. Duke could easily be third.

Hmm, I don't know how Duke can drop to five. They may have struggle a bit with some of their early games, but they have also shown that, without much depth, they are able to win the big games. I agree with all the teams in the top five, but just the ordering can use a bit of a shakeup.

I think the team that some people may be underrating and overlooking is Iowa. They beat a very good Louisville team already this season. Not too mention they have a very talented team this year. They have probably the most underrated backcourt in the nation in Pierre Pierce and Jeff Horner. Than you can throw Boyd and Henderson in there and that's a very athletic and good backcourt. Plus, this year, they have depth. They got some JuCo transfers this year that will help them. The biggest one is Nick DeWitz, so, now, when Worley gets in his usual foul trouble, they'll have someone else to go to. Plus, they actually have senior leadership this season. Where last year, all they had was Chauncey Leslie, this year they have Brody Boyd, Glen Worley, Shawn Sonderleither, and Jared Reiner. Great leadership there. I think this year will be very good. Terrific players and a lot of talent. They will open eyes this year in the Big Ten.

I had a very hard time deciding between Florida State, Iowa, and Michigan for the last two spots in the rankings. Florida State doesn't have a win against a decent team like Michigan (N.C. State) or Iowa (Louisville) but they have dominated every team they should have dominated. That may not sound very good, but so far few of the top teams have done that.

Yea, Florida State has ben able to dominate, but, you said it yourself, they don't have a quality win. That's why I think Iowa and Michigan would each get the nod over them. But, yea, it's still very early in the season and some top teams are struggling. I think this will be a very entertaining year of college basketball. Especially if we keep having this #1 ranking carousel going on. But, I think UConn will eventually begin to come on because they finally got Villanueva back, and with him, Hamilton, and Okafor all playing, they will be tough to beat.

Sure, they blew out Fair Dickinson, Nicholls State, Maine, and Georgetown KY, but it took them everything they had to barely squeeze by the worst Mississippi team in the last few decades. If you want to give recognition to an undefeated and under-appreciated team then look at Virginia, Dayton, Murray State, Ball State or even Niagra.

Dayton is getting appreciated. #25 in the AP right now. They might be the Cinderella this year.

I was actually considering Dayton as well, and they are getting their props, like Moo2K4 said, by the AP. It's tough to make a decision for the bottom of the top 25 because while the upper echelon teams are struggling there are quite a few teams that are on a roll who are barely cracking the top 25.

Michigan State was supposed to have a real good year, they were ranked before the season started in the top ten. What happened? They aren't playing up to their potential, and they have the right players to have a real successful season. I wouldn't even rank them nineteenth right now, they aren't playing like a top twenty team.

Maryland beating Florida will mix up the top of the polls a lot and likely secure Maryland a top 25 rank in this coming up week's poll.

This year they had more talent, but the absence of a team captain hurt them. It took a while for Hill and Anderson to assume leadership rolls, but once they did in the Oklahoma game they looked like a new and better team.
