Didn't he run like a 3.6 on the 40? [IMG]

His straightline speed is good but I'm wondering how elusive he can be.

If they can actually get him the ball I think that he can be a threat. But I'm guessing his hands suck and he probably isn't too strong.

Get him, put him at kick returner. That's a lot of straight line running right there.

Even kick return means you have to change direction. You can run straight line right into the coverage or he'll get killed.

He's facing an 8 year suspension in track and field because of steroids and they allow him to try out for the NFL...I know it's a different sport but he's not going to stop juicing. lolRegardless, I don't imagine he'd do very well. Route Running, Hands, needing to be Physical and having good change of direction speed to create seperation are all factors that will hold him back probably.

I guess is the new thing for sprinters.. Todd Lowber, a college high jumper just signed a 3 year incentive laden deal with the vikes with no prior football experience as a WR. Apparently he runs a 4.11 and set some high jump record. He's actually doing OK in mini camps with only a handful of dropped passes. I could see Gatlin making a practice squad from sheer potential but I doubt any of these former track stars really make it in the NFL. Even Michael Bennett was a pretty big bust after the 1000 yard season. A lot of these guys will realize it's a different game after their first hit from a safety coming across in Training camp.

He'll work out about as well as Brock Lesnar.

He should join an MLB team to be used as a pinch-runner, kind of like how Herb Washington was used
