<u>JVG Says No</u> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jun 16 - Stan Van Gundy, who was hired June.7 to replace Brian Hill as the head coach of the Magic, is in the process of assembling his staff. Among those he wants to add are former Houston assistants Steve Clifford and Tom Thibodeau, both highly recommended by his brother, who was dismissed recently after four seasons as head coach of the Rockets. "I did check with Jeff (about being an assistant here). I didn't figure he would, but I didn't want to be two months down the road and him say 'I wish you would have asked me,'." Stan Van Gundy said. "I did ask, but the answer was 'no.'." -- Orlando Sentinel </div> What a big suprise. Why would anyone want their big brother to be their boss?? Personally, if were lookin for some assistant coaches, let s get Patrick Ewing, who has already played for our organization, so he can develop Dwight Howard more.
Supposedly Stan is going after all of Jeff's assistants in Houston, including their big man coach who has helped Yao improve. So Jeff is helping Stan out by giving him some recommendations.
