"At 33 years old, forward Kenyon Martin is no longer age appropriate for the Nuggets, who wear baby blue for a reason. K-Mart, guilty of being born in the 1970s, can probably kiss Denver goodbye. And is it time for Nuggets fans to say hello to either Kenneth Faried or Klay Thompson, both 21-year-old draft prospects? Seeing as Josh Kroenke recently celebrated his 31st birthday, it's hard for our local NBA team to field a starting lineup in which every player is younger than the team president. But the Nuggets are trying. Whenever labor peace allows the Nuggets back on the court to begin next season, nobody should be shocked if this is the starting five: PG: Ty Lawson (age: 23) SG: Arron Afflalo (age: 25) SF: Danilo Gallinari (age: 22) PF: Nene (age: 28) C: Timofey Mozgov (age: 24) While the Nuggets won't come right out and say they're crazy envious of Oklahoma City, which advanced to the Western Conference finals behind youthful stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, it certainly appears Denver is doing whatever possible to copy the Thunder. There continue to be signs the Nuggets will attempt to make a trade in the hours or days leading to the NBA draft June 23. The latest hint was Wednesday, when the team auditioned rookie prospects that included Washington State guard Thompson, Tennessee combo forward Tobias Harris and Morehead State rebounding machine Faried. Denver is less than confident any of these prospects will be available when the team selects 22nd in the first round. That seems to indicate either the Nuggets aren't afraid to waste everybody's time or there could be a deal to move up in the draft." Read more: http://www.denverpost.com/kiszla/ci_18235535
