Just for fun, my college bball knowledge isnt quite up to par this year, but ill give it a shot. Threw in a couple interesting trades. 1. Orlando Magic - PF Emeko Okafor (The Magic may be without T-Mac next year, so they'll need a young-star to build around, or to even play with T-Mac. Okafor is a Zo Mourning clone, he even has the chronic injuries.) 2. Atlanta Hawks (From Los Angeles Clippers) - PF Dwight Howard (The Hawks trade up 4 places to get Howard, the home-town boy. Will start immediatly in Atlanta, but may take some time to develop on a young squad.) 3. Chicago Bulls - SF Luol Deng (SF is the weakest position on the Bulls, and Deng has a great basketball IQ. Hes exactly the type of player the Bulls need.) 4. Charlotte Bobcats - PG Ben Gordon (The Bobcats have needs everywhere, so they take possibly the most developed player in the draft in Gordon. Hes a good guy to help build a team around. They pass on Livingston because Gordon is more NBA ready.) 5. Washington Wizards - SG/SF Josh Childress (With Stackhouse often injured, and possibly on his way out, and no Center warranting a pick here, the Wizards go with Childress. He'll fit into the Wizards rotation nicely.) 6. Los Angeles Clippers (From Atlanta Hawks) - PG Shaun Livingston (The Clippers get the same guy they would've wanted at #2 at #6. Livingston is a big PG with good hands and has the essentials of a full package NBA player. Can anyone say Penny Hardaway?) 7. Phoenix Suns - PF/C Andris Biedrins (The Suns need a big man to compliment Stoudemire and Marion. Biedrins is a lanky player with a decent inside shot and can eat up boards and block shots. Good player for the Suns.) 8. Toronto Raptors - PG Devin Harris (With Gordon and Livingston off the board, the Raptors go to the next best option. Harris is a the PG the Raptors need for their offense to feed balls off to Vince, Rose, Marshall, and Bosh. The starting 5 will be scary.) 9. Philadelphia 76ers - SG/SF Andre Igoudala (A young exciting player to compliment AI. He is very athletic and will bring energy to the floor.) 10. Cleveland Caveliers - SF Josh Smith (The Cavs bring in another High School project to play SF, which is the weakest position the Cavs have. Nelson is another possibility.) 11. Golden State Warriors - PG Jameer Nelson 12. Seattle Super Sonics - C Pavel Podkolzine 13. Portland Trail Blazers - SF Luke Jackson 14. Utah Jazz - C Kosta Perovic 15. Boston Celtics - C Rafael Aroujo 16. Utah Jazz - SG Kirk Snyder 17. Atlanta Hawks - C Robert Swift 18. New Orleans Hornets - SG Sergei Monya 19. Miami Heat - SG JR Smith 20. Denver Nuggets - SG Sasha Vujacic 21. Utah Jazz - PF Kris Humphries 22. New Jersey Nets - C Peter Ramos 23. Portland Trail Blazers - C Peja Samardziski 24. Boston Celtis - PF Al Jefferson 25. Boston Celtics - PG Sebastian Telfair 26. Sacramento Kings - PF Anderson Varejao 27. Los Angeles Lakers - SF Viktor Khryapa 28. San Antonio Spurs - C David Harrison 29. Indiana Pacers - SG Dorell Wright
I am very high on Rafael Araujo, I don't think he will drop that low. Ryan Gomes will not be in the draft after all. He removed his name. I don't think Delonte West will be taken in the first round, infact I think he will withdraw in the end. Looks pretty good though..
Yeah I was going to make the point about Gomes not being in it. I'm with you, I think West will be a high to mid 2nd rounder if he stays in. I actually think Swift, though, will be taken by the Celtics. Also, the T-Wolves don't have a 1st round pick? I thought they had to foreit it because of the whole thing with Joe Smith.
You can pencil in Sasha Vujacic to the Lakers at #27. That's been a pairing that's been rumored for a couple of weeks. I would have also put Podkolzine to the Warriors instead of Nelson. But other than that, nice job. The nice thing about this draft is that it's so unpredictable that if you know who the top 10 guys are, you can put them in almost any order and come up with a plausible argument for each team's pick.
Thanks for the info on Gomes, as it reguards to Minni, they somehow always get their 1st round pick, how? I dont know. I KNOW their pick is forfitted, but oh well, I included them anyways. As for West, I think hes going to be a suprise to many. But Looks like I gotta fix a couple things.
West and Gomes would both be intelligent if they withdrew for this years draft because the fact they will be elected 1st all american next year. They will also most likely be definite lottery picks next year.
Kevin Martin's stock has risen a lot since the draft camp and you should include him as a low first round pick.
Do you guys think Donta Smith will be a first round pick? If he doesn't he made a huge mistake, he needs to go to Louisville.
I've been saying that ever since he declared. Believe me, I'm with you. He definitely needs to go to Louisville. His stock is increasing but if he's a 1st round pick I'm shocked. They have him at mid-2nd round but when he declared he wasn't even projected to be picked. I'm not sure when the Chicago pre-camp is, but if he goes I hope he realized that he won't get picked high and needs to drop out. Not many JuCo players have made it in the NBA.
Look for the Bobcats to try and move up as well with LA. A trade may not be likely with Atlanta' Jason Terry because he can't be moved for a certain period of time.
