Seriously, someone should give Olshey a "pot brownie" for his amazing effort on building this team. Unlike Whittset, Olshey is a Chemistry Major.

Sounds like Damian doesn't think of his teammates as just coworkers. The kid builds relationships, that is a pretty rare attribute. I think he is going to be better able to deal with trades going forward, but he will still miss people.

Notice he says when or if Kaman leaves the team, not the other way around. :)

I think this all part of a long troll by Kaman to get Lillard to do a Bette Davis impression.

Or maybe kaman's a closet Elizabeth Taylor fan...

Damn that was a hell of a read. I love stuff like that.

Notice that Casey didn't insert himself at all into the story? :)

That's called "good journalism" from a journalist that is more concerned with the story them himself.

Love me some Caveman! I love the way he's mentored Meyers, and now that he's back to his optimal role of playing 16 - 18 MPG off the bench, he's playing great again. This team has great chemistry, and it's awesome how well Kaman has fit in. You expect him to bond with other journeymen his own age who have kicked around the league, but I think it's cool how well he gets along with the young guys that are still on their rookie contracts, too.

More props to Olshey. He knew Kaman from his days with the Clipps and knew he'd be a great fit, both on, and off the court. Kaman's past relationship with Kim Hughes should also not be underestimated - not so much how it impacts Kaman's play at this point in his career, but Kaman's past history with Hughes makes him the perfect mentor for Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland.

And, I have to agree with Kaman when it comes to this forum, "This place is a DUMP!".

I looked it up. He grew up in the biggest suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Grand Rapids' metropolitan population is half of Portland's, and about the same as New Orleans, Memphis, and Oklahoma City. So he's not from out in the sticks, as implied when you hear he's from Wyoming.

Good chemistry, but needed chemical explosiveness tonight when they couldn't move past 3 points down. Besides, chemistry of this team isn't better than the Whitsitt teams. It was the Oregonian which had the bad chemistry with the players, and then blamed bad chemistry on the players and GM. Canzano has terrible chemistry with the city of Portland.

Well then do it when we're about to lose! Lillard hasn't been a consistent last-second shooter like Roy, since Lillard's great rookie year. We lost tonight and he was missing shots.

Lillard hit a series winning shot in his second year. Roy never made it out of the first round.

What complete and utter bullshit. Those teams had HORRIBLE chemistry and it had nothing to do with the media. Whitsitt assembled too damn many players that were all used to and expected to start. Damon was already paranoid and whining about losing PT to Greg Anthony when Whitsitt sighed Rod Strickland - The Sequel. The team, which hadn't lost more than 2 games in a row all season promptly lost 5 in a row and plummeted from 1st seed to 7th seed and was swept in the 1st round in a HUGE chemistry killing move that was completely unnecessary.

I suppose the media was also responsible for Sheed throwing a towel in Sabonis' face on nation TV (yeah, there's another sign of great team unity). The chemistry was so bad, Sabonis "retired" for a year and stated to the Lithuanian media (NOT the Oregonian) that Dunleavey lost the team and was not allowed to discipline the players because Whitsitt wouldn't allow him to.

And then there was the whole Detlef Schrempf Part 2 special privileges bullshit that led to resentment by the other players who were actually required to practice and not leave town to spend time with their families whenever the team on a home stand. Given that we already had Scottie Pippen and Stacy Augmon, htis was another chemistry killing move that was completely unnecessary.

The Brian Grant (heart of that team) for an overweight, coke addicted Shawn Kemp was another chemistry killing move that led to Kemp abandoning the team to enter rehab during the playoff race.

I suppose none of this actually happened and Oregonian just made it all up. Look, I hate Canzano too, but trying to pin Whitsitt's multiple fuck ups on him is ridiculous.
