Nuggets coach George Karl expects the team to waive his son, Coby Karl, by Sunday.

The younger Karl's contract will become fully guaranteed for the 2010-11 season if he isn't waived by Sunday's deadline.

Denver has until Aug. 15 to make decisions on the contracts of both Karl and Brian Butch.

If Coby Karl sticks with the Nuggets, he'd be the first player in NBA history to play for his father.
