<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ST. FRANCIS - At least in theory, a trade should be beneficial for all teams involved.

George Karl believes the trade between the team he currently coaches - the Denver Nuggets - and the one he formerly coached - the Milwaukee Bucks- will prove to be precisely that. Last August, Denver dealt veteran small forward Ruben Patterson to Milwaukee for veteran power forward Joe Smith.

"We thought it was a win-win trade,'' said Karl after putting his team through a practice at the Counsin Center Thursday. "We felt we needed a shooting big. And I thought Joe, in the last couple of years, had stretches where he was about as good a shooting big from 18 feet as there was in basketball.

"And Milwaukee thought they needed a backup three (small forward), who could give them some defensive intensity and an attitude. Ruben was a big part of us winning the division last year. He was huge.''</div>

It really made no sense why the Nuggets traded Ruby. He was one of their best perimeter defenders. Then they go and trade him for someone they don't really need tbh.

I digress, he should really help the Bucks this season. He will add the needed defensive effort as well as little intangibles and scoring.

Milwaukee will definitely need his perimeter defense as their other players are suspect like Michael Redd.
