Jets' safety Oliver Celestin went into last night's game with a lot more on his mind than winning a starting job ? something he appears to have done. Celestin, a New Orleans native, has family and friends whom he hasn't heard from since Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, and that's weighing heavily on his mind. "It's hard not to watch TV and not be updated on what's going on," he said. Celestin said he has grandparents, uncles and numerous friends from the East Bank area of New Orleans, which was an area hit particularly hard. He said he spoke to one friend before the phone went out, and his friend described some grim goings-on. "Normally at this time of year [when hurricanes come]people ride out the storm," Celestin said. "You expect heavy rains and wind to go by, and you sit and wait. I hope they didn't stay. I hope they left town. I haven't heard from any of them, so I don't know." Celestin said his parents took heed to the mandatory evacuation orders and fled to Houston, where they remain at the moment. * Jets owner Woody Johnson yesterday shot down a report in a gossip column that said he was thinking about selling the team. "I unequivocally have no intention of selling the New York Jets," Johnson said. "The report in a gossip column was completely in accurate and unfounded." * Derrick Blaylock, the Jets' offseason RB free agent acquisition after LaMont Jordan left, went into last night looking forward to getting a few consecutive carries to get into a rhythm. Blaylock got just what he wanted, rushing seven times for 45 yards, including a TD, in the Jets' 37-14 win over the Eagles. "I feel like I showed them what I can do," Blaylock said. * The Jets appear to have lost backup T Marko Cafka for the season with a fracture in his left wrist. It's possible they could bring back veteran Ethan Brooks, who they cut the other day, or scan the waiver wire. A couple young players had a chance to showcase themselves, including WR Chas Gessner, who caught two passes, including a 35-yard TD reception from Brooks Bollinger, and RB Little John Flowers, who rushed for 74 yards and a TD on 18 carries. Gessner, who entered the game without a preseason catch, is vying for the fifth WR spot. Flowers has been with the team for four training camps and might be running out of time. Herman Edwards, who has to cut 18 players by Monday, was noncommittal on both players.</div>
