Keane Satisfied With Draw

Liverpool striker Robbie Keane was happy to leave Spain with a point after a frustrating draw in last night's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid...

Keane scored Liverpool's only goal as they contrived to draw 1-1 with Atletico despite dominating for large periods of the match.

The second half was more even than the first, and after several baffling offside calls - in particular against Diego Forlan and Maniche - the former Anfield target, Simao, levelled the scores with seven minutes remaining.

"We dominated the first half and had a few chances," Keane told Liverpool's official website. "In the second half it was more difficult, they came back at us and got the goal.

"Because of the way the game ended we have to be happy with a point and now we can look forward to playing them at Anfield."

The Irish forward was partly to blame for the visitors' inability to capitalise on their ownership of the game, as he missed a glorious opportunity shortly after putting Liverpool ahead.

A perfectly weighted cross from Steven Gerrard should have seen Keane score his second, but his fancy flick met with only fresh air.

Rafael Benitez made no attempt to hide his frustration with the ex-Tottenham skipper's effort, and the player himself was similarly disappointed.

"It was windy and the ball was moving all over the place but no excuses, I should have scored," Keane said. "It was a great ball from Stevie and I know I should have done better. It was just one of those things."

Keane was substituted for Dirk Kuyt during the second half with a groin problem, but he expects to be fit for this weekend's clash against Chelsea.

He added: "It's a little bit sore but I don't think it's too bad and hopefully I'll be okay for Sunday."
