Just read a report out of Boston saying they would absolutely trade Jaylen Brown for the 3rd and Simmons, I can unddrstand their reasoning but why would we do it.
You think Dame and Jaylen Brown can bring us to contend for a championship? I don't even think we make the playoffs.
Ant, Shae and hopefully Scoot Henderson at the 3rd pick would also not contend for a championship but would give us a lot to look forward to in the future.
In another thread I said we should trade Dame. This depends on what we can get in return. But this idea of mortgaging the future for a Jaylen Brown is just terrible and would leave us in shambles

You lost me with "I don't even think we make the playoffs." A Dame, Sharpe, Brown, Grant Nurk lineup makes the playoffs.

Not sure that Brown is the best move, but the only way it leaves us in "shambles" is if they did not re-sign the soon to be 27 year old.

Yeah, the team was a grand total of 7 wins from the play-in, and 11 wins from a top 6 seed. Adding Brown (or Bridges) to the lineup, and actually not purposefully tanking the last 10 games (1-9) w/Dame not playing, and a further maturing Sharpe and a decent signing for the bench, and they should at least be in the play-in.

Don't know if they have a snow-balls chance in hell of getting Brown or Bridges though.

Don't agree that that we wouldn't make the playoffs. We would certainly make the playoffs, not sure how deep we go though.

But I do agree, leveraging for Brown seems like a mistake.

You think a team of Dame, Jaylen Brown, Jeremy Grant and Jusuf Nurkic make it far into the playoffs? In the west?
Boston on the othet hand would have both Scoot Henderson and Ant to team with Tatum, Horford and Smart. They'd be much better next year not to mention in the future.

Jaylen Brown, Dame, Jeremy Grant and Nurkic is the definition of mediocre. How can you not see it?

I question how much you have watched Brown. It feels like you only watched the Miami series. He was all NBA for a reason.

If anyone here has the number crunching ability to tell me Ant's numbers WITHOUT Lame, then couple that with Shae's numbers WITHOUT Lame and trade Lameian Lillar (no d in Lillard)

I watched the Blazers throughout this pointless season and I'm telling you we need a change of direction, build around the young players: Ant, Shae, Trendon, don't keep going with Lillard as a player-GM trading his teammates like he did in the trade deadline

You want another Josh Hart for Cam Reddish trade? Stop this madness and get rid of him already

What's so funny? We're about to make a huge mistake!
Let me take you a year forward, we just made the play-ins but not the playoffs. Lillard is a year older, Jaylen Brown has no reason to stay. In the meantime Ant completely emerged from behind Lillard's shadow, Scoot Henderson is the best rookie outside of Wembenyama and we're the laughing stock of the league

I think because of our history, that this is what the majority of fans are afraid of

Right or wrong, Joe Cronin and Jody Allen aren't going to base decisions on an anonymous message board poster's opinions.

These concepts are strange to me. In his first interview, Neil talked about collecting assets and using them to make a big consolidation trade. He never was able to do it. We now have the resources to do that, and we should pass on having TWO all-NBA guys on our team? We'd have no shot at winning with 2 all-NBA guys on our team?

I'm feeling a lot of small market paranoia from our fans, and a lot of small market dismissal by NBA fans in general.

We are likely to keep the pick, and keep Dame, which I'm more than OK with, but if you can get Brown or Bridges, you do it.

yeah, you always have to wonder about new posters who create an account and then think it is clever to call someone like Dame "Lame".

You can bash me all you want but I'm telling the truth. We need to trade Lillard for some other team's Ant and the 3rd pick. Although I'm certain no team would offer anything remotely close.
Ant at 23 years old and the 3rd are worth much more than Lillard. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping Lillard with the young assets but he demands a lot for his 'loyalty' basically wanting to be able to trade his teammates, I'm telling you he's not worth it
