    I will be suprise anything get done for simple reason that Neil will want to see what he can do in increase role. Neil will give low ball offer knowing that is agent will not accept. At this moment the to many unknown of Myers game to accually sign he long term contract.

    All I know is that I'm planning on buying a Leonard jersey at the opener on Wednesday, and I'm getting tired of having to replace jerseys annually, so however they do it, they need to secure him.

    For you "purists" who won't read Quick's stuff, I'll give you the high points.

    1. The deadline to extend Meyers Leonard is Nov. 2nd and there haven't been any discussions between Olshey and Leonard's agent to date. Quick thinks this is by design by Olshey to avoid a whole lot of back and forth. Quick thinks there will be one offer, one counter and that will be it. The Blazers will at least make a qualifying offer so Meyers will be a RFA.

    2. Since Leonard is likely to get more next summer than his $7.7 mil cap hold, the Blazers will preserve more cap space to chase FAs by waiting, but this probably isn't a big deal since they'll be flush with cap space anyway. Waiting puts the Blazers at risk of another team making a toxic offer for Leonard next summer, like the Blazers did with Kanter.
