The incident is still under investigation, but marks the second time in three years that Davis has suffered gunshot wounds. Police said Davis was driving westbound on the highway about 5 a.m. when a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows pulled alongside and someone shot in the vehicle shot at him and his passenger several times. Davis was struck by bullets twice and was able to pull his car over to the side of the road. The passenger, whose name has not been released, then drove Davis to RHD Memorial Medical Center. Davis was later transferred to Baylor, where he underwent surgery. Police said Davis was in stable condition and the injuries are not considered life-threatening. The contract will pay Davis slightly more than $3 million and included a $1.2 million roster bonus. Davis, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2002, is scheduled to earn a base salary of $825,000 for 2006.If there was one shortcoming in Davis' performance in 2005, it was an absence of big plays, as he authored no interceptions or fumble recoveries and posted just three passes defensed. In terms of his skill set, Davis is probably better suited to strong safety, but Dallas already has a Pro Bowl-caliber player at that position (Williams).The safety position was considered an area of concern for the Cowboys entering the offseason. I bet there is more to the shootings than it says here... nobody fires a gun at someone unless they have a reason, like the two have beef. I bet Keith Davis knows exactly why he's been shot twice on 2 separate occasions.(Good thing he's not dead though)
