Just saw on Facebook that Kellogg Bowl is closing for good (I hope that eventually it will re-open under new owners).
Dave Husted named his son Champ is funny. My high school was pretty close to Gladstone Bowl, so we had 3 weeks of bowling in freshman PE. Dave Husted was friends with the PE teacher so he would show up and give us pointers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Husted
I remember when it opened and bowled there a lot. As teenagers we'd go there and play pool, late at night.
Pretty sure you can still have a Kellog's bowl at home whenever you want -- they still sell many different kinds of cereal in all major grocery stores
The only reason I had an inkling of where it might be is because I visited Kellogg lake about 50 or so years ago.
South of OC on 99 not far from the old Pendleton Woolen Mill on the Johnson Creek. Near Peak Memorial Chapel.
The Champ that was part of the ownership group of Kellogg is, I believe, the father. Maybe Dave named his son (I assume he had a son?) after him?
I saw the thread title and immediately thought of some obscure college football bowl game closing because of Covid.
Where my parents live the school district line goes through the middle of the house. The school districts determine which school you go to by which bedroom you sleep in. If I would have moved to the other bedroom I could have gone to Rex Putnam.
