Anyone hear anything in the news about him? Seems he would be a good fit for the Rockets (backup C and potentially play alongside Yao). His best season was his last as a Rocket, when JVG gave him the starting PF spot. I think the Rockets still have a couple trade exceptions to work with which might be enough to sign him for at least a year, maybe more.

Cato can still be good for us. With the money we have left, it would be wise to not jump the gun and sign someone just for the sake of saying we did something. Cato would be cheap and serviceable; I don't see anything wrong with getting him.

Plus he played powerforward pretty effectively for us back in the 02-03 season (I think?). Cato's a pretty good rebounder and would help with his above average defense down in the low post. I agree, if its for cheap, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't pick him up.
