The Panthers were close to reaching an agreement with Detroit to send CB Ken Lucas to Motown, but Lucas balked and the deal now appears dead....the Panthers and Lions could still do the deal and force Lucas to make a decision, but it now looks more likely that the Panthers will cut the CB and make him a free agant. The Panthers are just barely under the salary cap and wants to clear some breathing room....
