<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There has been little fanfare about the Rockets draft this season, since they coughed up their first round pick (#13) to Memphis as a result of the Steve Francis trade.
Still, the Rockets have a second round selection -- #44 overall -- and they will begin individual player workouts on Wednesday when they bring in four players.

Antonio Meeking, a 6-foot-8 245-pound forward out of Louisiana Tech, Rod Nealy, a 6-foot-6 235-pound forward out of Houston Baptist University, Louis Truscott, a 6-foot-6 220-pound forward out of the University of Houston and high schooler Kendrick Perkins, a 6-foot-10 280-pound forward/center out of Clifton J. Ozen High School in Beaumont, TX.

Perkins is an interesting prospect. He dominated in high school, leading his team to a 100-4 record during his years there, and averaged 24 points, 14 boards and 6 blocks as a senior. He committed to Memphis before deciding to turn pro (how many high school stars have done this to Memphis now?).

While he has the size and offensive game, many say he lacks the athleticism and footwork to play the pivot in the pros -- but his potential is still intriguing for many.
