Looks like Kevin Barry's going to be out for the year... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2455256 Bad news for a Packers O-Line that already has plenty of questions.
Here is the story: Packers lose Barry for season Offensive lineman Kevin Barry tore his quadriceps tendon in minicamp practice Sunday and will miss the 2006 season. Barry, a fifth-year pro, injured the knee during one-on-one pass-blocking drills late in the final practice of the Packers' just-completed minicamp Sunday. The injury will require surgery and a rehabilitation of perhaps as long as a year. He had played both guard and tackle this offseason and was competing for a possible starting job, though he was not a front-runner
I can't speak for the rest of the Dwo but I could cope w/ Nick trading Seth McKinney to the Pack. Grey Ruegamer (drafted by Jimmy) has done well up there. Worst case scenario, the phins can send Seth to Detroit. ROFL.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>How much of an impact will it effect on the line, was he going to start this year?</div> He was competing for a starting guard spot, but was also one of the top backups at both tackle positions. It's a pretty major blow to the Packers' overall line depth.
It's a blow. He was overweight though and wasn't the front runner to start at RG but he was our top backup though. Right now I think Junius Coston is the front runner to start at RG unless we bring someone in. Hopefully someone gets released in the June 1st cuts and we can bring someone in. Right now RG is a major need.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DaPackersGb)</div><div class='quotemain'>Shit...Hows this line gonna look this year... -.-</div> Through 2 mini camps it's looked like this. LT Clifton with Whittaker as the top backup LG Colledge with Klemm as the top backup OC Well with Chris White as the top backup RG ?? Coston is the front runner with Spitz and Whittaker as the other canidates. RT Tausher and Barry was supossed to be the top backup so expect now it's Tony Moll
Whittaker at left tackle I thought Klemm would be the top canidate to back up both tackle spots, after all that is his natural position and he player very well there last year, not so well at the gaurd spot however.

Whittaker needs to lose some weight or he could realistically get released because he's not a fit for the zone scheme.
How did he look in camp? He basically just tried to throw his weight around last year flinging him self at D-linemen last year, at first when I heard he was starting I was excited about a rookie with that much talent but as the season progessed it just showed how bad off we were at gaurd. Whittiker is said to be a real Ass as well, i could care less if he was on the roster come june 1
Its never good to lose a Top slot backup.. esp in a division with some pass rushing talent such as chicago and minnesota.. I am sure there will be some june 1st cuts that GB can bring in to help the line..

I read that he there is a good chance he's released in the final roster cutdown. He'll be one of those players fighting for a spot but with Barry out for the year and on IR, I think it's safe to say he'll make the team.
