Big guy yelling at players when he's not even in the game. Kevin Garnett, Ben Gordon is the guy playing through an injury, and hitting clutch shot after clutch shot, and you go and talk your crap to him after he makes a big shot? Kevin Garnett, Ben Gordon was a better player than you this year, and he will continue to be a better player than you for the rest of the year. What a loser. Although this isn't as bad as him yelling at Aaron Gray and Anthony Roberson all game long.
I forgot Ben Gordon was this amazing guy who can do more than just score... Sorry, timmy is weird tonight
I guess you have to give the edge to Kevin Garnett....because he is just so much more INTENSE!!!! Seriously. Ben Gordon, 20.7 PPG on 57.3 TS%. Kevin Garnett, 15.8 PPG on 56.3 TS%. Sad that Garnett's TS% is a full point lower than Gordon's, despite scoring nearly 5 points a game less. Ben Gordon's a better passer, while Kevin Garnett' a better defender and rebounder (although the rebounding is pretty much by default given the size difference). If you swapped Ben Gordon and Kevin Garnett this season, Celtics probably are actually, legitimately competing for a championship, while the Bulls are like the T'Wolves for Garnetts last few seasons in Minnesota. Maybe they make it to .500, because KG is so INTENSE!!!!! But Boston's offense would have improved, and they'd still have the wide bodies on offense. And as I said, they would legitimately be competing for a championship, because Ben Gordon takes care of his body much better than Garnett, leading to a lot less injuries, and even when Gordon tears his hamstring, he plays through the pain. So swap Garnett and Gordon, Bulls are probably sitting here with a Garnett out of the playoffs, who will come back next year looking like Joe Smith, as they get swept by the Celtics, while the Celtics can go on to legitimately compete, because their big four actually stayed healthy. I still don't understand why Garnett feels so threatened by Anthony Roberson.
Typical Garnett trying to pick on the little players. Garnett knows that no one is going to go over and hit the yackjawed moron in a suit, although someone should. If Garnett was playing, I think Brad Miller would be suspended for beating up Kevin Garnett, or laying him on his back on a dunk attempt, or something of that nature. And Ben Gordon isn't a little guy who Garnett should be picking a fight with. Gordon would beat the crap out of Garnett, he is one of the strongest guards in the league.
if you're going to us TS%, you shouldn't ignore PER which shows KG at 21.2 and Ben at 17.0 Also KG is a MUCH better defender, besides the obvious rebounding and blocked shots edge the bigger player should have, he even averages more steals than Ben. Ben on the Celtics WOULDN'T change the entire defensive scheme and effort like it did when KG arrived either. All it would do is take shots away from Paul and Ray because that's what Gordong is.. a pure shooting guard. He's got ice in his veins in crunch time, but that's about all that sets him above other me-first SG's.
Garnett's an idiot and displays nothing but poor sportsmanship. Words cannot describe my hate for this man. Regardess of who wins this series, their reign is over and it was short lived. They'll be the only team in Celtics history that didn't have some sort of dynasty written on it. That's what happens when you trade your whole team for 2 players who are going to be entering the twilight of their career. Say what you want about the Bulls, but they've got guys with fresh legs and a lot of heart.
you forgot to add "and no titles this decade." You also forgot that the Celtics won a few titles in the 70's where no team emerged as a Dynasty. Trading away all that 'potential' for a title was worth it. Winning a title is what it's supposed to be about and mission accomplished by the C's. While Paxson sat on his young talent hoping it would develop, most of it didn't and now they're a middle of the road team who doesn't realistically have a shot at winning the title in the near future without drastic changes. Given those options, I'll take the title and a few more lean years to rebuild over what the Bulls have.
Your Celtics had zero titles for over 20 years. And yeah, but they won a few titles in the 70's and that's some sort of dynasty(esque) run. This little run you guys are having is over already. They won't return to the NBA finals for at least the next 10 years. Lebron James isn't going to let some old dudes or skinny ass Rondo run over him. The Bulls have Rose, Deng and Thomas, and if Gordon re-signs and Noah puts on some muscle, that's something I would take over Big Baby any day of the week. We're giving your team a run for their money and WE DON'T EVEN HAVE AN ALL-STAR.
so you want a pat on the back for giving an injured C's team a run for their money? Took the C's 7 games to end the Hawks season last year too.. that worked out well enough for the Celtics. we lost our best/second best player on the team and He's also the reigning DPOY. We also lost his backup in Powe. So there is some depth issues up front for the C's. Shit happens, teams struggle when it does. I know, Deng isn't playing for the Bulls, but the Bulls are playing better because of it. Yes the Bulls have some youth and potential... like they've had for a while, what will come of it?? No one can say for sure. The Bulls have 6 titles thanks to Mr. Jordan and Zero beyond that, I wouldn't crow about the C's 20 yr drought. 2 titles in a decade does not make a dynasty. Now if they made the finals 3 other times then yeah I could see the arguement perhaps, but not really. Otherwise the Washington Bullets would be that decades dynasty with 4 finals apperances and 1 win. Since no team won more than twice in the 70's I think it's safe to say there was no dynasty in the 70's. way to list 5 players on the Bulls (all lottery picks too) and compare them to 2nd round choice Glen Davis. Let's ignore Rondo, Kendrick Perkins (how taste his 7 blocks and 19 rebounds?) and last year's youth in Billy Walker and JR Giddens while we at it too. again in my view, it's nice to have youth and potential, but I'd rather have a team that's won a championship
I'd feel better about saying it's bush if Vinnie hadn't done crap like that several times during the season.
Here's what KG hasn't figured out. It's a good thing/accepted to be the underdog and be intense and in the face of opposing players and trying to get in their heads. It makes you look like you're doing everything to win against the odds. It's a bad thing/unaccepted to be the best player on one of the elite teams in the league and do the same thing. It makes you look like a poor winner
No, the problem is that Kevin Garnett is in a suit doing this crap. He should be called for a technical walking onto the court, in a suit, to get in Gordon's face, as well as other Bulls throughout the series. He always does these punk things, where he knows the other player can't do anything. Brad Miller punching Kevin Garnett on the court. Maybe gets him a 15 game suspension. Brad Miller beating up Kevin Garnett while he's in a suit, probably gets him a 41 game to full season suspension next year. Garnett has no reason to talk crap to Gordon, because Garnett has nothing to do with what the Celtics are doing now. Gordon's already hit more big shots in this series than Garnett has in his career. Garnett is a jackass, and he has been his whole life, from lynching someone in South Carolina, to being too dumb to get into college, to beating up one of his biggest fans, to hitting Tim Duncan in the back of the head when he's not looking, to throwing a ball at Antonio McDyess and running away.
here's the thing that kills me, when KG was acting like this in Minny.. I never read anything like what you said about him at all... It's just kinda come up since he's been traded and is no a winning team.
as far as getting after Ben Gordon who's been killing the C's with his hot shooting.. I call that Gamesmenship. I know he's on the bench injured, but he's still trying to be part of the team any way he can. When he gets on rookies and 8mpg guys.. that's what makes me feel embarassed for him.
I think it was just because when he was in Minnesota, he became irrelevant his last few years. And the worst stuff he did in Minnesota, punching Rickert and Sczerbiak, wasn't captured on camera. Since becoming a Celtic, there is a whole host of video of him acting like an idiot.
I hope POR loses that game, I want HOU in the 2nd round... ...and that post was very helpful....KG and BOS as a whole can suck it
Still hurt over the Lakers getting their asses handed to them in the Finals last year... ah well if you're lucky you get to see it again this year
Garnett is a fucking pussy. Odom got in his face and he fucking crawled into a shell like a bitch. He can only talk shit to little guys. How does that suit fit Garnett? Talk all the shit you want, your not on the court. Fucking punk pussy.
