<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>While Kolb couldn't manage to orchestrate a win over South Carolina in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, scouts can extract positives from his performance. Perhaps most importantly, Kolb showed the ability to move the offense in the face of pressure. He put good zip on his passes and showed above-average accuracy despite getting hurried and flushed out of the pocket on a regular basis. Though Gamecocks' DE Jordin Lindsey timed his jump well and snatched a second-quarter Kolb pass out of the air, the interception can be blamed partially on poor protection. In that situation, the running back stepping up to protect must attack the legs of the defender so he can't get his hands up.Kolb is poised to shoot up draft boards with a strong pre-draft season, because he has great natural ability and greatly improved on his biggest weakness -- his ability to protect the football. He did a far better job of taking what the defense gave him, regardless of the situation. In fact, Kolb helped lead the Cougars to five wins in games they trailed at halftime, a sign he didn't press and force the big play when he trailed. However, Houston lost to Miami and South Carolina, giving credence to concerns about Kolb's ability to produce against a higher level of competition.</div>

Sounds about right. Hence why I was so impressed with him. I take all of that higher competition stuff with a grain of salt, because he played well in both games and theres a severe mismatch in terms of the overall talent of these teams.
