I'd much rather have AP then, because any team where Kevin Martin is the star is going to miss the playoffs every year.

Parker, on the other hand, is one of the best complimentary players in the league, so I'll take him and pay someone better than KMart to be the star.

This choice is a no contest.

    Kevin Martin hater?
I don't know much about A.P but it doesn't seem like he can take over a game or do some important stuff.

I didn't mean for it to sound that way.

    I like Kevin Martin --

...but he's going to eventually cost a lot more than he's worth.

I think in terms of winning a title, and having Parker playing along side some legit max players is a great way to do just that.

    Neither

    A rather poor comparison

Anyone that doesn't take Kevin Martin in this is either biased, or hasn't seen him. Martin has to be at the top of the NBA in drawing fouls. Look at this way, Kevin Martin is a monster already at the age of 24 while Parker had to go to Europe before he could contribute in the NBA, and Parker is already 32. This is absolutely a no contest, Martin will make 8 million next year, which is a bargain for him IMO, so throw out the argument he's going to be overpaid.

And then the bargain ends, no?

After that how much is he going to make?

It is a seriously flawed comparison. They are two players at completely different points in their career arcs and that perform completely different roles for their teams.

I wouldn't build a team around Kevin Martin or Anthony Parker

Well, that's not too bad. Pretty reasonable if you use him as a third wheel.

Too bad. I tried to give some kind of counter-argument since someone wanted to talk about it, but there's not much to say.

Don't avoid the question. What level do you believe he is at?

I don't believe he is under the radar at all. The general NBA fan knows who he is.
