Fresh off his impressive 8th round knockout of domestic fighter John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) last night at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, Kevin Mitchell (32-1, 24 KO’s) is now targeting Australian fringe lightweight contender Michael Katsidis for a rematch. It was only last year that Katsidis blew Mitchell out with a third round knockout in somewhat of an upset victory. It sounds good that Mitchell wants the rematch, but unfortunately he has little to offer Katsidis. He’s already in line for a title fight against World Boxing Association lightweight champion Brandon Rios, and that fight you would think would be the much bigger bout than to take on a guy that he already beat and who doesn’t have a title. It’s a no-brainer. Mitchell has nothing to offer other than some obscure WBO inter-continental strap, and I’m pretty sure that Katsidis can survive life without going after that belt. read more: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/07/kevin-mitchell-wants-katsidis-rematch/#more-73410
