Here's one on the table: Looking for a backup point guard, Houston gets Kevin Ollie from the Cavaliers via Charlotte, with the Rockets sending Eric Piatkowski through Charlotte to Cleveland. The Cavs signed Ollie to a $15 million deal last summer, then hardly played him. After making fewer three's than any other team (three per game) last season, the Cavs have identified long-distance shooting as one of their needs. Piatkowski will help in that area. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...2p-176420c.html What do you guys think about Ollie at PG for the Rockets if francis is traded or even if he is not. He averages 8.0 assist per 48 minutes and a 2.89 ass/to ratio. Not much offense though. I personnaly think the rockets should try and get Damon Jones, a Houston native that is in a backup role in milwaukee but is a very good assist man. 11.7 Assist per 48 minutes 4.74 Ass/TO ratio
Yeah, I was looking at that too. He's solid in ball handling and passing, his shooting is a concern.. I think the Rockets should look at signing Tierre Brown as a FA. He played for us in the pre-season, I thought he was pretty solid, dunno why we let him go, and kept Moochie, eventually ending up with Weatherspoon. But if Francis goes, I think we should really look at Brown, then play both of them in the preseason, see which should get the starting job. If Francis goes, and McGrady comes, than we dont need a streaky PG. Just a role player that can give us 10-15 ppg. and 5-8 assists
What ever happened to Tito Maddox, i remember he was suppose to be a steal in the second round of the '02 draft. All the analyis were calling him the best pure PG in chicago.
Yeah i remember him, but when he was playing for Houston, he was a SG i think.. I remember him missing alotta his shots, I dont think the Rockets liked him.
Found Him. Ended up with the cavs, didnt play though. Far as i can tell he is not under contract with a team right now. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketbal...a/players/3635/
Yeah I'd much rather see Damon Jones as a Rocket than kevin Ollie...Jones has a nice assist/TO ratio (among the best in the league) and also can hit 3s...him and Pike would be some much-needed 3-pt firepower off the bench...

Ollie is a seasoned vet in the league who could really stabilize a team's offense. I'm at a crossroads in terms of this trade but I'd say go for it. Ollie did a good job starting in Indiana. If he gets a new start in Houston via trade, it'll be a wonderful opportunity for him to get 25mpg and 5apg. He will not take a lot of bad shots also.
I loved Ollie in Seattle, hated him as a Cav.. He really did a big 180 in terms of effectiveness from what I saw. Who knows how he'll fit in, really? But the main problem now is that he has a fairly big contract considering what he brings to the game
i dont like him much. he jacked up bad shots when he was in philly. i don't think he'll be a good starter or leader on the rockets with McGrady.
