    Kg & Kb At Last!

I have heard numerous reports throughout this week from sources around the league that the Wolves would listen to offers for Garnett, but do nothing more than just listen. One of the teams floating a deal was said to be the Lakers, but there was no sense that anything progressed beyond that. The Timberwolves aren't likely to move their franchise player and are certainly less likely to send him to the conference rival Lakers.

With Garnett having bought a home in Malibu, working out with Kobe Bryant in the summer, socializing with Laker owner Jerry Buss, the rumor mill began to buzz after the interview on TNT. The word was the Lakers and Timberwolves were discussing a blockbuster trade including Garnett.

If mitch kuptchak wants to gain laker fans respect, this would be the best time to propose any trades. Some how some way i just feel like KG will be in a Lakers uniform after the trade deadline.

    Can anyone answer this?

    Will the timberwolves accept this?

    Lamar Odom + Kwame Brown + Slava Madvadenko + 3 1st round draft picks + cash for K.G & Troy Hudson[IMG]

Odom and Brown are obviously going to be in the mix. I think we should give them someone from the guard spots. Losing Odom and Brown would leave one spot open for a big guy. I think Slava should stay and give up Mckie. I don't know if they'd let go of Hudson t hough. I would like it if they threw it Madsen (ex Phil Jackson Laker)

T'Wolves would be stupid to take on Kwame.

Garnett will not land in LA - unless he becomes a FA and signs himself.

If they were to rebuild I think they should. Personally, if I were KG I'd be insulted by the trades I've heard. I've heard ludicrous ones from Philly, NY and LAL...

I don't think he's worried about insults, I think he's worried about getting himself on a team he likes. Yeah KG is worth alot more than LO and Brown, but in the long run KG would be better off at the end result.

I'd give anyone on the roster away for KG, perhaps even Bryant. One exeption though; I would not like for Bynum to be traded.

Nah, Kobe's got to stay. They share common interests. They are both passionate about the game, both want to win and stay hungry after they win. The only differences are that they are difference positions and that Kobe has had the taste of victory three times. KG and KB on the same floor. Whew.... whew.

Too good to be true; plus Kupchek isn't capable to pulling a trade like this through...

Lamar and Kwame are not only the best fit for the wolves in a rebuilding phase, they are also they only players (besides bryant) that have the contracts to make this trade work.

They proposed trade at the top is way too much to give up, but the trade would basically go like this-

Kwame and Lamar and perhaps a filler for KG and Hudson- a trade I like a lot.

KG is a smart guy, with a very high bball IQ so I think he would and could grasp concepts of the triangle faster than most. Kobe would be patient with KG and the chemistry between those two would be incredible.

The wolves might not like the idea of trading Garnett to the Lakers, but it is my understanding that they want to put him in a place he wants to be. The wolves know they will not be a contender for a long time (especially if they DO trade KG) so trading him to a western conference "rival" really would not be an issue.

    PG- Hudson
    SG- Bryant
SF- Walton (so George can still come off the bench)
    PF- Garnett
    C- Bynum

Hudon is a veteran with big performances in the play offs, I'd trust him running the triangle.
Bryant- Not much needs to be said but he will make KG better and it will be tough to decide who deserves the MVP- though it will still be Kobe's team.
Walton- Great passer, decent shooter- knows the triangle: very valuable asset
Garnett- Makes everyone on the team better, creates shots for the rest of the team (i.e. Kobe) and is also a team player.
Bynum- can't make a lay up but can grab rebounds at a good clip and will surely benefit from KG's presence. Having a former great teach u is one thing, having one of the top three players in the L at your position is another.

This team would be one with a pretty high basketball IQ with a hunger to win. I could see them giving any team in the L a VERY hard time.

Here's a trade to get Kobe and KG running together

    Minnesota Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Mark Madsen
    6-9 PF from Stanford
    2.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.4 apg in 14.7 minutes
    Michael Olowokandi
    7-0 C from Pacific
    5.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes
    Wally Szczerbiak
    6-7 SF from Miami-OH
    15.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.4 apg in 31.6 minutes
    Incoming
    Kobe Bryant
6-6 SG from Lower Merion (HS)
    27.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 6.0 apg in 40.7 minutes
Change in team outlook: +4.1 ppg, -6.1 rpg, and +2.7 apg.

    L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Kobe Bryant
6-6 SG from Lower Merion (HS)
    27.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 6.0 apg in 40.7 minutes
    Incoming
    Mark Madsen
    6-9 PF from Stanford
    2.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.4 apg in 14.7 minutes
    Michael Olowokandi
    7-0 C from Pacific
    5.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes
    Wally Szczerbiak
    6-7 SF from Miami-OH
    15.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.4 apg in 31.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: -4.1 ppg, +6.1 rpg, and -2.7 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Minnesota and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I have a question for EMPRA!15 where have you seen this reports? Can you provide a link? But indeed I've alwayls also picture KG in a laker uniform but in another for this trade to go thru there is gotta be a third team involve and I think that is what the lakers are trying to figure out. If indeed all this Laker players will be involve in the trade....
Brian Cook (865,800), Luke Walton (1,250,000), Slava (3,000,000), Lamar (11,465), Aroon Mackie (2,500,000) and Sasha ($910,000) for KG (18,000,000) ofcourse I know for sure another team has to be involved. Maybe I'm just putting players that I hate to see in the Laker uniform with exeption of Lamar that do not belong.....

First of all you guy are trippin. what do the lakers have to offer? what? a straight up deal for kobe wouldn't even be worth it for the timberwolves let alone for Odom(nothing accomplished in 7 years) and Brown (nothing acomplished 3 years)

The truth is KG would be more valuable to the lakers if they got him then Kobe. think about it, every championship team/dynasty has been based around a big man the 1 exception being MJ because he's MJ. The Lakers would have better championship hopes with KG then Kobe in truth. Which is why anything other then a straight up Kobe and Odom trade for Garnett, would be insane for the wolves.

All these KG rumors really are all just silly.

Why on earth would Minny want to take on the contracts of Kwame and Odom...seriously? There is absoloutely no way this is going to happen.

If Kevin was going to get traded, it would be to an eastern conference team, so I don't think this trade would go down.

Minnesota does NOT want Kwame. So, this is a possibility:
    Lamar Odom: $11,465,500
    Slava Medvedenko: $3,000,000
    Aaron Mckie: $2,500,000
    (2) 1st Round Draft Pick, unprotected

    We get:
    Kevin Garnett: $18,000,000
    Fred Hoiberg: $1,760,000

Fred will not play this season, so the Timberwolves are waived from having to pay him by doing this deal. KG wants to leave. Any team would love a Lamar Odom, and Slava's contract runs out next season. I predict Aaron McKie retires at the end of this season. The Timberwolves would also get two high draft picks.

    Lakers starting five:
    PG Smush Parker
    SG Kobe Bryant
    SF Luke Walton
    PF Kevin Garnett
    C Chris Mihm

    T'Wolves starting 5:
    PG Trent Hassell
    SG Marko Jaric
    SF Lamar Odom
PF Carlos Boozer (If they pull of that trade otherwise, Madsen)**
C Slava Medvedenko (If they pull of that trade otherwise, Olowakandi)**

**-T-Wolves and Jazz have been talking trade Olowakandi for Boozer

Why would Minnesota take Slava over Kwame?

Kobe and Odom....yeah good call- those numbers work out pefectly.

Kobe's due $120 million the next 6 seasons while Lamar has a couple $10 mil plus years left on his contract.

That would leave the Lakers with Garnett with his second being Kwame Brown...the guy that plays his position- that sure works wonders
