This shows that the move was irrational by Glen Taylor not to mention it's a desperation act for a guy who is trying to save his own job in Kevin McHale. Obviously, Taylor felt something had to be done dramatically so Flip was gone.
What Garnett said obviously means that he didn't agree. He made it sound spiteful in that the boss controls it. If he would have been happy, he would have gone out and said that.
