LPGA. Carlsbad, Calif. The Kia Classic Presented by J Golf is a golf tournament for professional female golfers that is part of the LPGA Tour. It will be played for the first time in 2010 at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. A full-field event, the tournament will have 144 golfers, including 142 professionals and two amateurs who are given the opportunity to qualify through an open qualifying tournament, three weeks before the start of the tournament. The title sponsor of the tournament is Kia Motors, a South Korean-based automobile manufacturer.
