http://mmamania.com/2009/01/25/drea...-grand-prix-yamamoto-offered-first-round-bye/ UPDATE Kid Yamamoto was in Anaheim yesterday for WEC's event along with Caol Uno, Robbie Lawler, and a host of other fighters (video below). Dana casually asks him if he is ready to come fight here, I guess meaning in the WEC, and he says yes, but take from that what you will. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=hK1cJRX_0JM
I would really like to see Yamamoto in the WEC, a Kid vs Faber fight would be sick. It seems to me that all the little guys pick BJ cause theyve either fought him or whatever. What they don't know is GSP is a machine and he's just gonna run through BJ.
Why does everyone think BJ is going to gas? He has rededicated himself to training, I think gassing is out of the question.
I dont BJ is gonna gas, I just think GSP's superior athleticism and strength is just going to overwhelm BJ.
He wont gas and I dont think he'll get run over like many think he will. He's honestly in the best condition I've ever seen him. I've been following Penn since his days as just a jiujitsu practitioner. The guy is a natural fighter. I'll admit, GSP's athleticsm is incredible but that doesn't necessarily translate into a win. BJ is a fighter, plain and simple. He fights and beats the shit out of opponents. Finally with some conditioning added, he's as dangerous as ever. Prior to his re dedication to the sport, BJ used to train lightly and still whoop the best in the world. Now? I wouldn't count BJ out. If he loses it will be by decision. Thats the only way I see him going down. By way of the judges. I'm sure GSP will bring it, but to say BJ wont is just nonsense. Besides this thread is about Yamamoto. If he enters the UFC, its gonna be crazy! Kid is a machine!
I think if they get Kid long term, they should move 145 up to UFC. Faber needs to make more money for being one of the top 10 p4p fighters in the world (even with the recent loss) and Yamamoto won't fight for nothing either. Putting those 2 on PPV would be awesome.
