Following the conclusion of Sunday night's 105-95 series-clinching victory in Miami, Jason Kidd was asked how many years he has left in him.

"With this group, hopefully another two or three," Kidd told the television cameras. "I feel great, and being around younger guys and working on my game, and them believing in me, helped me compete every day."

Kidd, who signed a three-year deal with the Mavericks before the 2009-10 season, said in March that he had a contract to fulfill. However, he also admitted that something could change his mind -- an NBA lockout.

The chance of not having a 2011-2012 season would mean Kidd could hang up his jersey and shorts for good.

"If it was a lockout and it was no season (in 2011-'12), I probably would walk away from it at 39, 40 years old," Kidd told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in March. "That's just too much for me to train and get back in shape.''
