QUOTE

Jason Kidd's not going public with any trade demands, but he'll likely push harder for a deal before the February deadline than he did last season, when Rod Thorn would have shipped him into Kobe Bryant's backcourt if only the Lakers were willing to send back Andrew Bynum.

That is only slightly more surprising than hearing that Greg Oden won't be playing against the Nets this season

Thorn should have accepted the Lakers offer last year. A year later and there's less opportunities available for finding a trade partner willing to take Kidd. I'm sure the Nets would want to ship him to the Western Conference if they end up dealing him, but what's realistically available?

I agree with Shape. Kidd's value has to be at an all-time low. Teams aren't going to give up young prospects for him...maybe a few picks, an expiring contract, and a good role player...but other than that, I don't see him netting much for the Nets.

No, you are missing the obvious.

His all time low was when he had microfracture surgery and no one was sure how he would play after it.

I never said he was all-time low (that was Mamba). I said his value is worth less now than last year and posed the question, what's a realistic deal NJ can get for him at this point?

There aren't any realistic deals because you are talking about Rod Thorn, just like there weren't any realistic deals last season at the trading deadline. The only reason it appears Kidd had a higher trade value then was that there were desperate teams looking to make a move. This year at the deadline there will once again be desperate teams and the fact that Kidd now has one less season to go on his contract will actually make him easier to deal if Rod Thorn wasn't in charge.

I say if anywhere, he goes to Golden State. Even with them struggling, he likes it their and we can get the best talent from them IMO.

Ya, I agree, Rod Thorn only likes to completely rip off teams. It'll be harder to do since he's TRADING AWAY a superstar.

The Warriors already have a lot of money invested in Baron Davis and the team is trying to cut salary to extend Biedrins on Monta Ellis next summer. They traded Jason Richardson last summer to free up money for these two so I don't think they'd deal for Kidd.

Kidd isn't going anywhere. Thorn will likely just try to rip off another team like he did last time Kidd got upset.

QUOTE

Jason Kidd said he wants to stay put.

After Kidd vented his frustration Monday about the awful state of the Nets, a logical conclusion was that he wanted out. He insisted yesterday in the day that's not the case. And then he showed last night what he is all about with another triple-double - his third this season, 90th of his career.

"I'm happy in New Jersey, happy being a Net," Kidd said. "Nobody has asked for any trades or anything.
