Call me crazy, but I feel like Kidd had a better chance of winning with the Knicks. The West still feels like the more dominant conference, and Dallas has yet to do much of anything to improve for next season. Let's say the Knicks didn't do much of anything this offseason other than sign Kidd. After next season there's a strong possibility that someone like Lebron or Wade might sign with Knicks, in part due to Kidd being there. So, Kidd would sacrifice one year and get two play the next two with Wade or Lebron, or both. (Assuming at least one signed with the Knicks)
Hopefully Dallas gets their head straight and trades Kidd. I don't think Dallas can win anything with their current roster, and not with Kidd as their starting PG at over 7 million a year. They need to make a splash, like Boston did with Garnett, Lakers did with Gasol, and to an extent Cleveland did with Mo Williams.
I doubt they'll trade him after they just re-signed. Dallas needs to trade Howard, especially if they acquire Marion. Howard seems too much of a liability.
c: Gortat pf: Dirk sf: Marion sg: Terry pg: Kidd 6th man: Howard If the Mavs manage to get Marion, they don't look too shabby. Probably not enough to contend, but they can be very dangerous.
They can always go small and have Marion play PF, and Howard SF. But screw it. I hate Howard. He's weak sauce. Trade him. And Gortat isn't a starter!
I know they wont. It's just my own personal fantasy (not in a sexual way). And I'm pretty sure Cuban intends for Gortat to start. Heard they were shopping Dampier. Besides, getting paid the full MLE, you better start (and contribute). If they get Marion, I envision at lot of small ball, with Kidd or Barea, Terry, Howard, Marion and Dirk.
