The Bruce Ratner Fire Sale continued in earnest yesterday, when the Nets gave away yet another piece of their franchise -- and their history -- by shipping Kerry Kittles to the Los Angeles Clippers for virtually nothing.

Which raises the question: Just how low can the Nets go?

This low: According to a team official, Jason Kidd returned from his Mexican vacation yesterday and immediately requested a meeting with management at Ratner's earliest convenience, at which time the Nets' captain is expected to demand a trade.

Everyone that follows NBA should've expected this,no Kenyon plus no Kittles equals Kidd wanting out.Kidd had his chances with the Nets,I would want a trade too if I would be over 30 years old with no rings. It wouldn't be a miracle if NJ trades Jason Kidd for scrubs that have expiring contacts+few first round draft picks that problably won't be anyhting special.Maybe they can make a deal with Denver Nuggets,Nuggets give Andre Miller and Nene for Jason Kidd and Lucious Harris.(There are rumors that Nets may buyout Harris' contract)

I dont think Kidd going to demand a trade with this visit because if he was he would have went to Rod Thorn. I think he is going to Bruce Ratner to discuss what direction is he taking this franchise and what is Ratner's plans for the future. He probably wants to speak to Ratner to see whether, he really plans on keep the Nets in a rebuilding mode for the Next 4 or 5 years until the move to brooklyn. If he doesnt like what he hear then he will go to Rod Thorn and demand a trade.

I feel kinda bad for this team. They are crumbling right in front of our eyes little by little. I think Kidd will definitely be packing his bags next. That would leave poor RJ to run this team which I think cannot happen.

I think Kidd will be asking to be traded there is nothing left on this team ecept Richard Jefferson, and I think Kidd knows that him and RJ and draft picks, arent good enough to compete with the improved teams in the East.

Yeh, that trade would be great for New Jersey, but the numbers
aren't even close. The Nuggets could send Andre Miller and Marcus
Camby for Kidd, but that trade cannot be executed until Dec 15th
since Camby was redently signed. It doesn't make sense for Denver
to rip their team apart after the season has started.

Trade Kidd. He deserves a ring. He doesn't have the knees left in him to be in a rebuilding team.

I think the team is going on a downward spiral but who cares it happens to every team when they go on a championship run Knicks, Bulls, Sonics, Orlando, Houston, and the Lakers it to much money to try to sustain a competitive team so I see this as a rebuilding stage if they do decide to keep kidd it is for his leadership not for his talent cause just kidd and jefferson will not when you too many games. But i would like to see kidd traded to a team like the Spurs, Wolves, or Sacremento were there is a point guard or backup guard that can help off the bench and kidd can take any of those team to the championship.

Just look at the combos Kidd, Spreewell, and Garnett or Kidd, Ginobilli, Brown, and Duncan thats crazy, and even Kidd, Christie, Webber, and stojankovic.

Yes I know the teams would not look like this but it would look really nice from kidds standpoint

This is what i want to see Kidd going to orlando for francis and some body else and draft pics but thats just a dream

proposed trade and this if for the future

Kidd for Francis and keith bogans

Kidd to memphis for troy bell, pau gasol, and bonzi wells this works out cause it address all our immeciate needs almost. And wells and gasol are expiring contracts so that would work out to clear capspace as what ratner wants to do

or kidd and aaron williams to toronto for carter, palicio, roger mason and jerome moiso. since carter wants to be traded but isnt saying anything and kidd is more then likely going to ask for a trade

Maybe Nets BOSS think that Martin can go so only 1 year contract left Kittles can go too, I expect Nets can have a miracle season next year...
Maybe we can sign some excellent player after the end of nexy season...

I am really hoping the nets do trade kidd. IMO he brought that team back from being the laughing stalks of the league he doesnt deserve to have them fall back to being exactly that now again. Hopefully he does request a trade to a good team and makes them title contenders like he did the nets his first year there. IDK who the nets can really get for kidd though since the others teams know the nets have got to trade him after he requests a trade and the nets are tring to cut down on cap so they probable wont request a super star for him. Normally they have big contracts.

Hopefully some how RJ can get out of there as well the nets can go from having three posssible all stars one season to having none the next if kidd requests a trade and mabye RJ does because of all the things going on. I want to see who would be the leader in the kidd sweep stakes if he is gona be traded it will be practically every team in the NBA that has depth to trade like mabye the clippers will try and get in the thing and possibly trade brand for kidd? Though brand does get 89 million a year he would be a nice corner peace to build around and kidd would be a good mentor for livingston and be reunited with one of his teammates kittles there. ANything is a possibility at this point even that he wont request a trade.

don't be too pessimistic, Kittles goes, then A-Train can stay.
Then we have 4 big men, Collins, Krstic, Davis, A-train...nice...
Kidd + Jefferson is excellent, play fast break with other small players is not too bad..

Yeah it's not too bad, but it's not enough for us to win it all.
