How about a 3 way with Philly and the Lakers;

    We trade Kidd and Collins, Philly trades Miller and Evans, LA trades Farmar, Kwame, Odom, and their first round 2008 pick (lottery protected).

    We recieve Odom and Miller as well as the pick, Philly gets Farmar, Collins and Kwame and LA gets Kidd and Evans.... Seems pretty fair with a few draft picks changing hands...

    With a Miller/Carter/Jefferson/Odom/(insert stiff here) starting 5 we would have a pretty solid lineup that has good passing and rebounding skills...

    I mean in a different offense Odom would be much effective, Miller is a good pg to have in front of Marcus and 2 picks next draft would leave us in good territory as far as still making the playoffs but being able to retool on the fly. The next draft is looking pretty deep as far as Big Men and pgs... I mean all I want is if we trade Kidd, we are not set up to lose...

    EDIT: Why Lakers do it; They get Kidd, keep Javaris and dont really give up much. Reggie Evan would be a perfect Rambis style fit as well. Rebounding more than Odom and taking less shots away from Bynum

    Why Philly does it; They shed Andre Millers contract, get a cheaper version in Farmar. Kwame Brown auditions till the end of the season when he can either be resigned or his $$$ cut from the cap. And Jason Collins ends up here since the Lakers wouldn't want him but with an expiring contract and a young (starter quality) pg who will compete with Williams, has has to even the deal...

    The idea is to win it all, not just sputter along at .500 every year and lock yourself into a mediocre roster.

    The Crittenton trade where the Nets get nothing instead of Odom is better than this deal. At least there's some cap flexibility and the chance they will get a high lottery pick that could turn out to be a franchise player.

    I agree with ghoti. I'd rather have the cap flexibility to go after a FA or two and suck to get a lottery pick. The 08 draft class is looking pretty good at the top at least right now. I'd love Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, or Michael Beasley if we are that bad.

    I don't see any motivation for Philly to do this, especially not as Stefanski's first big move.
