    Billups vs. Kidd
    PPG 17.5 13.9
    RPG 3.4 8.0
    APG 7.5 8.9
    SPG 1.29 1.54
    BPG .27 .33
    FG% .424 .420
    FT% .893 .784
    3P% .340 .351
    MPG 37.3 36.7

That's right. Forget about Kidd in the off-season. He doesn't score as much as Billups. And here's a big one! Billups shoots a lot better than Kidd. Billups FG% is better than Kidd by a whoping .004%. No question there. Here's the killer. Billups is a better free throw shooter. And oh yeah, he has a better MPG average than Kidd. Who cares about Kidd's triple doubles, it's over-rated anyway right? Anybody can score a triple double. So what if he makes he's teammates better. And anyone can be a leader right? A Hall of Famer? Who cares. Don't even mind if Kidd is a proven clutch player. Who can beat MR. Big Shot anyway. So yeah, forget Jason Kidd. Your better off with Billups... [IMG]

Who cares, the Lakers wouldn't be able to get either of them.

lol, actually Charlotte would have an easier time getting either of those players. But they don't need to.

lol, I'm guessing Laker fans would be happy if Mitch acquired either Billups or Kidd.

Well if you knew anything about the salary cap, you would know Charlotte can offer any FA the most money this summer.[IMG] BTW, the Bobcats have Raymond Felton, why would they need Billups or Kidd?

Well, I take it this post was directed towards me, so I will respond.

Let me be the first to say, we agree on a lot of the same things, and you bring up great points.

The part I don't understand is why you're trying to be such a dick about it? [IMG]

You could have easily just replied to my thread with your thoughts, without all the sarcasm and such. And you really didn't need your own thread.

With that said, let me rebut...

In NO WAY did I say that Billups was a better play than Jason Kidd. I mean for pete's sake, we are talking about JASON FREAKIN KIDD. This guy is a living legend, and is one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game. He is this generation's Magic Johnson, and if I'm not wrong, I believe he's second on all-time Triple Doubles?

Anyways, my point was that I believe Billups would be a BETTER FIT and he would also be much cheaper to acquire than Kidd.

They have a lot of similarities, however, while the Lakers are running the Triangle offense, I believe Billups would be the perfect fit. Obviously, Kidd would be a GREAT fit too, but I think Chauncey might just be what the Lakers are looking for.

I'm just not sure if J. Kidd would excel in the Triangle like he has done in the past, as it kinda forces Kidd to "dumb-down" his game in a sense.

Finally, Kidd is a expensive, there's no telling how much is value would be in the off-season. Billups is also a free-agent next year, which is why I threw him out there for consideration.

Now I appreciate your post and your thoughts, but next time you really don't have to come across as a Jackass and post a new thread like this.

I don't mean any disrespect. I'm just really pissed on what has been hapenning to Kidd. I wanted him to be a Laker after the break. Sorry about my reactions. But I really think Kidd would be a better fit than Billups. And I have a feeling that the Lakers can get Kidd for a lot less with the way things are turning out in Jersey.

    Hey bro, no worries.

You seem like a huge Kidd fan, so I totally understand your frustrations.

Trust me, we ALL wanted him to be a Laker, ESP. me (check my previous posts) I wanted Lakers to even include Bynum in the mix (although I'm glad they didn't now)

Kidd would be an awesome fit, basically with Kidd or Billups, they'd both be the missing piece to the puzzle, I guess after we let Kidd get away at the deadline, I had to try and explore new opportunities.

Hopefully you're right and Kidd will be just as available if not more so in the off-season.

I was ready to cop a Kidd jersey right when he became a Laker. And this is coming from a HUGE Kobe fan that doesn't own his jersey (I figure it's way too played out and everyone and their mom has a Kobe jersey)

I wasn't a Kobe fan to be honest. I thought of him as a Jordan rip-off. But he has matured a lot, attitude wise and in his game. And I could never deny the guys talent. I actually try to watch as many Laker game as I can. The guy is incredible. That's why I wanted a Kobe-Kidd tandem so bad. I honestly saw them as "Showtime 2"! I'm still hoping for the best this coming off-season. I'm actually working on a Kobe-Kidd sig.
