Kidd waxed nostalgic about growing up a Lakers fan and said he wouldn't be upset if he became a Laker.

"With the history of the Lakers, you definitely can't be disappointed," Kidd said. "With the tradition they have as a franchise, you couldn't be disappointed."

The Lakers have had trade talks with the Nets about Kidd. At one point Kidd said, when asked what team he wants to play for, "A team that could win a championship."

Kidd said of the Nets' bid to trade him, "They have to see what's best for the franchise. It's hard to say we're underachieving with all the injuries. That's the nature of the business. It only takes one team. You always have one bag packed. You never know." </div>
