The Bills could be without star middle linebacker Kiko Alonso for some time. The team announced Tuesday night that Alonso suffered a knee injury while training in Oregon. "We do not have the details at this point, but early indications are that it may be significant," general manager Doug Whaley said in the statement. Alonso made an instant impact as a rookie last season, leading the team with 159 tackles (87 solo) while starting all 16 games. A serious Alonso injury would mark the third such incident involving a standout linebacker in recent weeks.
