<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In an effort to improve the team, King also made calls to the agents of two unrestricted free agents from other teams. King contacted the agents for both Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons and Jared Jeffries of the Washington Wizards. Both players would have to be acquired through sign-and-trades. Wallace is the two-time defending defensive player of the year in the NBA and has won the award four times with the Pistons. He finished the 2005-06 season with averages of 7.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.21 blocks per game and was a member of the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Wallace averaged a career-high 15.4 rebounds per game in 2002-03, 3.48 blocks per game in 2001-02, and 9.7 points in 2004-05. Wallace was never drafted by an NBA team, but has now finished 10 seasons in the NBA.</div>-Sixers.com

Despite all the rumors, it still seems to me like King is making an effort to revamp this team around Allen, rather then trying to trade him away and rebuild. Wallace would be nice, but I doubt we could get him in Philly.

You never know though, maybe we could give them Dalembert and Salmons.

Ben Wallace won’t be a 76ers, the Chicago Tribune reported today that the only serious considerations are the Pistons and Bulls. The 76ers and other teams inquired about him, but don’t have the pieces to make it work. I don’t see the point in getting Jeffries. Although, he is a good defender at the swing man position we already have more than enough good defenders in that slot. King needs to make some more realistic phone calls to guys like Pryzbella.

Don't see it happening. Unless a sign-and-trade is involved its likely that Ben will be either a Bull or Piston.

Would be really nice to get Jefferies...maybe a sign and trade Salmons for him? If we'd get him without trading Salmons I wouldn't want him cause it would create a big logjam at the sg/sf spots
